Roles (matters deliberated and decided by the Committee)

  • Establish and evaluate the national policy on counterterrorism activities.
  • Establish important mid- to long-term plans, such as basic national counterterrorism plans.
  • Resolve matters in need of sharing and coordinating the counterterrorism activities of the responsible authorities.
  • Resolve matters on the operation of the National Counterterrorism Committee and the Working-Level Counterterrorism Committee.
  • Resolve matters related to the establishment and designation of special task forces for counter CBR terrorism, special forces for counterterrorism, and special military task forces for counterterrorism.
  • Resolve matters related to issuing a terrorist attack alert.
  • Organize and operate counterterrorism and safety agencies for important national events.
  • Determine the payment standard for terrorism report rewards, terrorism damage support money, special consolatory money, etc.
